Fremtidens menneske - situidet

I en artikkel hentet fra CIFS (Instituttet for fremtidsforskning, eller Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies) hjemmesidede, i øvrigt blev brugt ved årets studentereksamen i dansk stil, beskriver Gitte Larsen (CIFS) fremkomsten af en ny måde at leve og være på. I dag omtaler vi mennesker som individer, baseret på at et individ tager udgangspunkt i sig selv og ser identitet og livsverden som afgørende parametre i definitionen af sig selv. Identiteten er baseret på hvordan individet forholder sig til modsætningsforhold som fx arbejde - familie, og individet styres af rammer, planlægning og disciplin.
Gitte Larsen lancerer så begrebet om situidet, som er den der skal afløse individet. Situidets udgangspunkt er til enhver tid situationen, og afgørende for situidets opfattelse af sig selv, er hvor vedkommende placerer sig selv, og det vigtige her er at placere sig selv i situationer der er meningsfulde. Situidet vil således handle forskelligt i forhold til hvilken situation vedkommende befinder sig i, og har intet problem med at skifte mellem mange forskellige situationer. Situidets personlighed skabes derfor gennem de kontekster eller netværk det der en del af, og skelner ikke mellem indre og ydre faktorer, så som arbejde og familie, men lader det hele glide sammen. Det der styrer situidet er sammenhænge, relationer, fleksibilitet og valg.
Netop muligheden for at placere sig selv, er noget mennesker i dag har rig mulighed for. Definitionen af hvem man er, er hos situidet afhængig ag de fællesskaber man deltager i, og her dannes ens identitet i stor grad. Samtidigt er situidet selv med til at definere de fællesskaber det indgår i. Ikke mindst ved brug af internet er det nemt at danne nye netværk og fællesskaber - hvad enten de er netbaserede eller også foregår i det virkelige liv (eller IRL - in real life - som det hedder i de kredse). På nettet kan man finde et hvilket som helst interessefællesskab. Fx er virtuelle mødregrupper for nybagte mødre meget udbredt. Vores personlighed og identitet bliver løbende defineret og omdefineret, og individets store spørgsmål om "hvem er jeg" bliver ikke så vigtigt for situidet, da hvem man nu er, er noget der afhænger af hvilken situation man befinder sig i.
Hvilken betydning har så situidets fremmarch på fremtidens arbejdsliv? Umiddelbart kan man sige at udviklingen er helt i tråd med tendensen hvor vi ser flere freelancere og selvstændige, og færre fastansatte lønmodtagere. Delvis fordi dette er nemt for arbejdsgiveren; man kan hyre den medarbejder man ønsker i et stykke tid til at udføre en opgave, og når opgaven er løst, vandrer medarbejderen videre. Men ligeledes ser det ud til at mange medarbejdere, især situidet, ønsker denne form for arbejdsliv. Der er en tendens i vikarbureauer, at folk arbejder for bureauet hos skiftende arbejdsgivere på permanent basis. De ønsker ikke at være bundet af faste arbejdstider og arbejdsopgaver, og vil have muligheden for at sige nej når der er bud efter én og det ikke lige passer dem at arbejde netop den dag. Hvor ansættelse gennem vikarbureauer traditionelt har givet muligheder for at komme ind i en virksomhed og opnå fastansættelse på sigt, er dette ikke længere målet for mange medarbejdere.
Som jeg tidligere har været inde på, er én vigtig faktor ved fremtiden at tid og sted-dimennsionerne ophæves - eller i det mindste svækkes betydeligt. I et sådan samfund passer situidet godt ind, da det ønsker at gøre tingene på sin måde på det tidspunkt og det sted der passer bedst. Det afgørende er selve situationen, og man gider ikke beskæftige sig med arbejdsopgaver som man ikke finder meningsfyldt, da man opfatter det som spild af tid. På den måde er det nok måske fornuftigt nok af danske virksomheder at lægge fx produktionsopgaver og andre rutineprægede opgaver i udlandet, da det med tiden kan blive svært at finde arbejdskraft i Danmark. Vi har allerede set det i enkelte serviceerhverv; rengøring, for eksempel. Denne type jobs er ikke så attraktive for danskere, og udføres derfor i stor grad af udlændige. Den samme udvikling tror jeg også vil brede sig til en række andre opgaver af mere eller mindre rutinemæssig karakter.
Et nøgleord for situidet er valg. Man må tage stilling til hvilke situationer man vil placere sig i, for mulighederne er uendelige. Samtidigt giver det masser af muligheder - især for dem der formår at overskue alle mulighederne og foretage de rigtige valg. Især siden janteloven er en zombie, bliver det til frit valg på alle hylder, og kendetegnende ved mennesker er tro på at man kan. Spørgsmålet her er så hvad der sker med de andre? Dem der ikke er lige så fremadstormende som den nye kreative klasse, og som stadig er en lille smule tynget af janteloven, eller som har brug for hjælp til overhovedet at komme på arbejdsmarkedet, og til at fastholde sin tilknytning til et job. Man ved jo at denne "man er sin egen lykkes smed"-holdning har en tendens til at øge ulighederne mellem mennesker. Jeg har ikke svaret her, men jeg ved at både politikere og virksomheder - og alle os andre - bliver nødt til være mere åbne end vi er i dag, og tilbyde hjælp og støtte for disse mennesker.
Instituttet for Fremtidsforskning opererer med betegnelsen Creative Man på fremtidens medarbejder. Og Creative Man må vel anses for at være et situid, som jeg ser det. Eller også er det at være situid en egenskab, eller en faktor, hos Creative man. Vigtigt for de fællesskaber Creative Man indgår i, er at de skal opfattes om meningsfulde for vedkommende, og i stedet for at tilpasse sig omverdenen, sørger han for at omverdenen tilpasser sig ham, hvilket hænger godt sammen med det faktum at flere ønsker at arbejde under løsere rammer Det centrale er at man arbejder af lyst i stedet for af pligt
Situidets balancegang bliver af finde balancen mellem det at være noget helt specielt - for det at være som alle andre et yt - og det at deltage i et fællesskab. Vi vil sætte vort eget præg på fællesskaberne med vores egne værdier - de er nemlig ikke noget vi almengyldigt som vi overtager fra forældre, arbejdsgivere eller andre autoriteter. De skal være vores egne, og de vil for situidets vedkommende afhænge af hvilken situation man befinder sig i.
Teorien om situidet er CIFS bud på fremtidens menneske. Det er en kendsgerning at udviklingen går mod en mere kontekstafhængig tilværelse. Om udviklingen af situidet er godt eller skidt, og fordele og ulemper ved denne udvikling, er en anden diskussion.
